He\u00a0is the Board President and co-founder of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.texasdebatecollective.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Texas Debate Collective<\/a>, a nonprofit focused on\u00a0providing\u00a0low-income students access to the highest levels of competitive debate.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7994\" src=\"https:\/\/causevox.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Texas-Debate-Collective.jpg\" alt=\"Texas Debate Collective\" width=\"649\" height=\"371\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Expensive training camps are often where top debaters learn and practice their skills over the summer in preparation for the next season. But, students without significant financial resources are shut out from those opportunities. These financial barriers to participation are also unequally distributed; students of color are more likely than their white peers to be unable to participate in debate for financial reasons.
