Tell us a little bit about who you are.
\n<\/strong>I’m a 32 year old Mom of 6 living in Washington. I am working now as Co-Founder and Chief of Tribes at The Adventure Project.<\/p>\n

Why did you decide to fundraise for TypeTAP?
\n<\/strong>TypeTAP was an idea brought to us by a couple girls in our Tribe. We took their idea and worked with them to create the one day fundraising campaign for World Water Day. I love any opportunity I get to raise awareness and provide avenues for involvement. I feel like there are a lot of people who care, who are looking for ways to help, to be involved in the world — sometimes they just don’t know what to do. So obviously when we started raising money for well mechanics in India, I wanted to bring it to my corner of the blog world.<\/p>\n

What methods did you use to get people to come to your page?
\n<\/strong>I am a pretty consistent, avid blogger. I post daily and so there is a group of people who check regularly. I was able to blog about the opportunity and link to my CauseVox fundraising page<\/a>. I was obviously passionate about the cause and I believe that translates to readers. I also used Twitter and Facebook to link back to the blog.<\/p>\n

What has been the most difficult part of fundraising?
\n<\/strong>I think sometimes we come up against some “charity fatigue.” People can be bombarded with requests for money and support.<\/p>\n

Any tips you’d like to share with other fundraisers?
\n<\/strong>I have been technically “fundraising” for several years. But I never honestly realized that is what I was doing. To me, it was always just, “I care about this. This is such a cool opportunity. I’m so excited to be a part. I bet others will be as well.” And then it is simply shared from the perspective about the awesome opportunity to be involved in effecting people’s lives. That’s exciting. That’s not “fundraising.” It’s very personal to me. I think a personal story and passion has the capacity to awaken something in others as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
