Comments on: How to Take Mobile Donations https://www.causevox.com/blog/mobile-donations/ Online fundraising and donor management Wed, 08 May 2024 17:48:15 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.9.4 By: Jenny Kessler https://www.causevox.com/blog/mobile-donations/#comment-193 Wed, 04 May 2016 14:13:00 +0000 https://www.causevox.com/?p=3258#comment-193 the frustrating thing about CauseVox is that the actual fundraising site itself is not mobile responsive. When people go to my fundraiser on their phones they have to zoom and scroll to find the donate button. I can’t imagine how many potential givers I’ve lost because the site didn’t scale correctly. Come on, this is 2016.

Unfortunately, for tax deduction purposes, some nonprofits need the postal address info (who still uses this anyways?). For example, Canadian charitable law requires a postal address, otherwise the donation would not be valid and the charity could lose their status.

There are 8 form fields showing and there are at least three that aren’t shown, cc#, expiration date, and CVV. That’s a lot for someone on their mobile phone. I say skip the address info – except zipcode, which is really all you need for cc processing – and just get an email address or only ask for the physical address after the donation is complete.
