Hi Mike,
Great question! In a case like you describe, I think segmenting your donors for solicitations will be key. If you know you have a bunch of people who make gifts on Thanksgiving weekend, I would make them aware of your GivingTuesday campaign, but focus the majority of your GivingTuesday solicitations on people who don’t usually make those gifts.
